Work is progressing ahead of schedule and providing there is no problem due to weather it is expected that it will be completed on Monday.
I spent some time with the Trunk Road Agency project lead today and he has confirmed that as well as fully sweeping the pavements at the end of the work a number of homeowners on the west side of Wellington Road who have experienced significant amounts of mud being thrown up onto their properties will also have them washed down as part of the end of task clean up.
We also took the opportunity to talk about the wall to the north of Grosvenor Bakery and he confirmed that they had recently remeasured it in the hope of taking immediate action but it was too short so it remains with the officers in Cardiff for a decision. He will now talk to the area manager on my behalf to find out what pressure can be bought to bear to facilitate a conclusion to their deliberations and I will let you know more when I hear back from them.
Work is also progressing on a possible safe crossing point at the opposite end of the wall to link the estates up with the paths into the Lake park.
